The athletics arena was opened in July 2015. Built on the site of the previous athletics stadium, where on 10.08.1961 Zdzislaw Krzyszkowiak broke the world record over a distance of 3,000 m with obstacles.

The track can be used for all types of running events required by PZLA and IAAF regulations. The surface of the circular track and the arena corners are made of professional MONDO TRACK synthetic training surface recommended by PZLA.

Athletic sports arena consists of :

• six-lane running track
• a straight eight-track
• 2 jumping frames for long jump and triple jump
• 2 landing jumps for the high jump 1 landing jump for the pole vault.

The center has the necessary athletic equipment:

Starters with a false start detection system, hurdles, obstacles for running 3000 m with obstacles or time measurement system.

Athletic arena is adapted for people with disabilities.
